Poetry in Motion

“Our perfect companions never have fewer than four feet” -Anonymous.
Upon reading this, many people think about their dogs and/or cats. Now, yes, I do have an adorable labradoodle named Piper, but I do not first think of dogs. Before I tell what animal I think of when reading this quote, I want you to think back to when you were around five (yes, five). Do you remember that one kid in preschool that was absolutely OBSESSED with all things horses? Well I was that kid (and still am to this day, even though I am a teenager).

If you haven’t guessed it already, I think of horses when I think of a perfect animal companion. Having been riding for a year and a half, I still have a lot to learn, but I am in love with these beautiful creatures.
Normally, I am your typical girl who does not enjoy getting dirty.  But from the moment I step out of the car and onto the ranch where I ride, all of the previous traits of my personality go out the window.  During my riding lessons I get muddy, wet, stepped on, bitten, and much more; but I love it anyway.  I could easily make a blog post super long about horses but I need to keep this one short and sweet.  So in conclusion, horses are my companions, my happy place, and true poetry in motion.

“Whoever said diamonds are a girl’s best friend obviously never owned a horse”
